Canada's Commercial Seal Hunt

As you may or may not know Canada is currently in the middle of their seal hunt. Canada allows for hunters to go out into the icy waters to beat, shoot, and club seals repeatedly so that they can have their fur.

The Humane Society International is working to stop these unnecessary evil deaths being caused to an animal for their fur. Please visit the Humane Society of the United States website to donate and help try to put an end to the unnecessary killings. You can visit the site at http://www.hsus.org/.

There is good news however. With more and more people and businesses promising to go fur free the price of fur is dropping. Its being reported that the price for seal skins has dropped to $15 which won't even be enough for these killers to break even at the end of the season. With your help this could be the last year the seal hunt takes place. If Canada can finally take a stand then laws can be passed to make this cruel enterprise disappear.

For a day to day report of what is happening with the seal hunt please visit this link: http://www.hsus.org/marine_mammals/marine_mammals_news/live_from_the_ice_2009.html

Please be warned below are some graphic pictures of this seal hunt. Seeing these pictures is the only way to see the true horrors of this enterprise.
